MMT Company Spotlight: Meet David Whiteman
A New Hope native, David has been part of Music Mountain Theatre from the beginning, helping to establish what we know as MMT today. He has been part of every season since we opened our doors, and was an active part of our company at our previous home in Washington Crossing’s Outdoor theatre space.
When not on stage at Music Mountain, David can be found occasionally directing both MainStage and children’s theatre productions, volunteering to usher at select performances, and even spent
some of his time on the Music Mountain Theatre’s Board of Directors at one time.
When asked what the best thing is about MMT, David responds that it is “The sense of professionalism and family.” He continues, “after many years performing, I still enjoy being onstage and being with the people in this theatre.”
Outside of performing with us at Music Mountain Theatre, he is presently the Entertainment Coordinator for Mad Science of West New Jersey. He also enjoys relaxing, watching movies and tv, spending time with friends and family and traveling. Oh and his cats. He made sure to let us know that he is contractually obligated to mention them.
Much like children, David cannot pick just one favorite role. Man in the Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone, King Arthur in Spamalot and Scrooge in our annual production of A Christmas Carol would be at the top of the list. He would enjoy taking on the role of Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha one day, and Elf has been his favorite MMT production that he has seen but was not a part of.
We are so happy to have David as part of our community since our days at the Washington Crossing Outdoor space and beyond. Don’t miss seeing David as Scrooge in our current running production of A Christmas Carol, a role he is playing for the 12th time!
