Company Spotlight: SEAN MCREYNOLDS

MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Sean McReynolds

From the greater Philadelphia area, Sean was introduced to Music Mountain Theatre by his cousin-in-law and fellow resident company member, Chelsea Connelly Lewis. He had seen her perform in a number of MMT shows over the years, and she encouraged Sean to get back in touch with his theater roots after nearly a decade away from the stage.  He was first a part of our cast of Something Rotten in 2023, followed by Sunset Boulevard, Elf: The Musical, and City of Angels.

Sean is currently working at a call center for Amtrak in their webchat department. If you've ever wondered if there's a real person behind those little chat boxes on websites, that's him! He also hopes to find a role utilizing his accounting degree in the near future.

Currently, you can find Sean on stage as part of our production of Sweet Charity!  His favorite performance at MMT to far has been performing in Elf, noting he had an absolute blast! “It took nonstop energy and pushed me in a lot of ways I hadn't dealt with onstage in years, which just added to the thrill of performing to sold out crowds nearly every night.”  His favorite show that he has seen at Music Mountain?  “I really enjoyed Fun Home! The level of talent, humor, and emotion that went into it was truly impressive.”  Looking to the future, Sean would love to play literally any role in either Rocky Horror or Be More Chill!

When asked about the best part of being involved with MMT, Sean says “It's the culmination of professionalism, community, and talent that go into creating such well-produced results month after month with just a 3-week rehearsal process for each show.” His biggest takeaway? “That it's never too late to get back into something you love doing! I hadn't acted for about 8 years prior to joining MMT and was made to feel completely at home right away. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back to the world of theater.”

Outside of work and performing, Sean has been to over 120 concerts, enjoys organizing and playing in online social strategy games like Survivor or Big Brother, has an embarrassingly large collection of Marvel Funko Pops and admits to spending far too much money on tattoos (though he says he will always get more).

We are so glad Sean found his way to MMT and has joined our resident company this year!  Be sure to come see him in Sweet Charity running through June 9, and keep an eye out for him onstage later this season in The Scarlet Pimpernel!
