Company Spotlight: ROGER MADDING

MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Roger Madding!

Born in Jacksonville Illinois, Roger now resides in Bucks County and we are so happy to have him as part of our MMT Company. Be sure to catch him in our current cast of Moon Over Buffalo running now through March 27th!

Roger got his start with us back when a last-minute replacement was needed at the open-air theatre more than 10 years ago! After his daughter told artistic director Louis Palena that her dad enjoyed singing Bluegrass music, Roger stepped into the production and has been with us ever since. He was even part of helping us paint and get the Music Mountain Theatre building we are in today ready to open.

He has played many roles for us both on stage and off and loved getting to perform Van Helsing in Dracula, especially since that was also his favorite costume to date. When not on stage at MMT, Roger can occasionally be seen running lights, working on our crew, helping build set pieces, or up in the catwalk as one of our spotlight operators, which he really enjoys since he notes that is the best seat in the entire theatre!

"There are so many great things about being here at MMT, from the ongoing education, being part of growing the arts scene in the area to the inclusive, welcoming, and professional environment", Roger states.

By day, Madding is an auto technician who enjoys all types of music and happens to be a HUGE fan of sleep. His theatre dream is to play either Pierre (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) or Hermes (Hadestown).

We are so thrilled that Roger joined us as a replacement way back when, and to have him as part of our 2022 resident company again this season. Here’s to (at least) 10 more, Roger!
