MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Lucinda Fisher
Lucinda has been with the Music Mountain Theatre Family since our days in Washington Crossing’s outdoor theatre space, and had even worked with artistic directors Louis Palena & Jordan Brennan when she was just a pre-teen! She has appeared in many shows with us so far in our five seasons, and has been a member of our resident company since our inaugural season.
When asked the best part about being involved at Music Mountain Theatre, Lucinda says it’s the short rehearsal process and the lasting friendships made throughout the years…along with A Christmas Carol and The Rocky Horror Show! She also notes that the biggest takeaway from being a part of the MMT community is the caliber of performances in the productions. Adding that ”Everyone shows up with their A game and understands the expectations of being a Music Mountain Theatre performer.”
By day, Lucinda works full-time as a Special Education teacher at Delaware Township School, where she is also the NJ Junior Thespian advisor and theater director for both the elementary and middle school plays. Additionally, she is the advisor for the DTS Dancers and Science Olympiad team, is a dance instructor here in Lambertville, and teaches private voice lessons at her home. Lucinda recently graduated with her second masters degree in Special Education from Rutgers University and is currently working towards her Ph.D.
Outside of the theatre, she enjoys the beach and traveling. “I like to spend as much time as I possibly can in LBI with my husband and our families. "I collect seashells and love to take long walks on the beach with some iced coffee from The Mermaid Room in hand.” When it comes to travel, she has an ongoing list of places in the world that she intends to see and visit one day!
Lucinda recently got married after three postponements due to the shutdown, and was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of putting in a pool at her house this summer. She is obsessed with mermaids, and loves chocolate, Starbucks, Playa Bowl, and shopping. She won the first ever Best Leading Actress award at the MMT Mountie Awards in 2018 for the role of Tracy in Hairspray and has been nominated two additional times.
We are very glad to have Lucinda as part of our company for her fifth year! You can see her in the upcoming production of Rocky Horror Show at the end of October and A Christmas Carol later this season. For now, Lucinda is singing and tap dancing in our current running show, Thoroughly Modern Millie, playing on weekends through October 9th.
