Company Spotlight: KIRA SNEDDON

MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Kira Sneddon

Kira first began performing with us in 2014 at just twelve years old after seeing her older sister, Emma, perform in shows the previous summer. Her first show with our company was Seussical. She also loves assisting us off-stage as well, and can occasionally be found in the loft running spotlights.

After being part of our inaugural performance of Phantom here at our new indoor MMT home, Kira has been found in several productions each season since. Her favorite show she’s performed in thus far is American Idiot. “Green Day and the show, in general, are just my absolute favorite, and being able to cross the show off of my list of dream shows was an incredible and unforgettable experience.” Looking to the future, Kira hopes to one day have the chance to play either Eponine in Les Miserables or Maureen in RENT. Some of her favorite MMT productions that she has seen from the audience include Nonsense A-Men!, Matilda, and The Will Rogers Follies.

When asked about the best thing that comes along with being involved at Music Mountain Theatre, Kira replied, “The community, in my opinion. I have met so many amazing people through MMT that I am now lucky to call my friends, and I am forever grateful for that. This theatre and company has been like my second home since I was 15 years old and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Kira’s biggest takeaway from working with MMT would be the professional atmosphere. “The rehearsal process for most shows is about three weeks, so I have learned over my years performing here how important it is to maintain a certain level of professionalism.”

Outside of Music Mountain and Theatre, Kira loves music and could spend hours chatting about her favorite bands and singers (looking at you, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift!) and enjoys going to concerts when she can. She also loves horror movies, her cats, and Dungeons and Dragons.

We are happy to have Kira at MMT and as part of our resident troupe of actors. You can see Kira currently in our production of Something Rotten through June 18th and then keep an eye out for her onstage or up on our catwalk throughout the rest of our season!
