Company Spotlight: JENNY MCNIVEN

MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Jenny McNiven

Hailing from Albany NY, Jenny moved to Pennsylvania in 2018 and was immediately looking up local theatres in the area to be involved with. She found MMT on her search and auditioned for our 2019 season, where she was cast in one of her dream roles, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and Jenny has graced our mainstage many times since! Along with on-stage performances, she also enjoys taking classes at the Music Mountain Theatre School when time allows.

You can currently find Jenny performing as the athropologist, Claire, in our production of On the Town. If you didn’t catch her as Adelaide a few seasons ago, you may remember her from our first production of A Gentlman’s Guide to Love and Murder, as Gynecia in Head Over Heels, or earlier this season as Rose in our stunning production of The Secret Garden. Looking to future roles, she dreams of someday having the chance to play any part in Les Miserables, Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly!, Mother in Ragtime, and the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods.

When asked about being involved at Music Mountain Theatre, Jenny states, “I love that you are guaranteed a professional and well-organized experience when you perform here at MMT. The team is just incredible, the talent always blows me away, and I have a wonderful time working with my fellow cast members show after show.” She continues, “Every time I get back on the Music Mountain stage, I remember why I love theatre so much. MMT has created a space that celebrates artistry, creative expression, and a community that theatre can't help but foster between people with similar passions all working together to create something beautiful to share with the world. I cherish the connections I make here at MMT and the fleeting moments of magic I am privileged enough to be a part of on that stage. My biggest takeaway is just gratitude for that and for the entire team who makes it all possible!”

Outside of doing theatre, she is an avid reader, nature junky, loves to write, going on adventures with her son, and traveling. By day, Jenny is an Instructional Designer at Temple University and also does freelance voice over and content creation. She also previously worked as an archaeologist across the South and Southwest!

We are so happy to have Jenny join us as one of our resident company members for this 2023 season. Don’t miss seeing her in On the Town through August 20!
