Company Spotlight: JEN GURSKY

MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Jen Gursky

Jen heard about Music Mountain Theatre through one of her voice students when they used to perform at Downtown Performing Arts Center and The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre.  She first auditioned for us in 2013 and joined us in the cast of Crazy for You.

After being part of Crazy for You, Jen has been seen in numerous productions with us throughout the years, but the role of Polly is by far her favorite role with Music Mountain Theatre, noting “I am so grateful to have played the role not once but twice with this company.” Her favorite show that she has seen at MMT but was not a part of has been A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Looking to possible future shows, Jen would love to one day have the opportunity to play Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain.

When asked about the best thing that comes along with being involved at Music Mountain Theatre, Jen replied, “The supportive directors, music directors and choreographers with performers of all ages have the opportunity to work with.” She Continues, “Whether you are involved in Children’s Theatre or the MainStage productions, MMT helps all of us to grow and flourish, and I always learn something new about my craft and myself from each show I am involved with because Theatre has the power to transform lives.”

Jen has served as Music Director for several MMT Mainstage productions, including MMT's first production in our new theatre, Phantom! She has recently joined the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees, bringing her skills and experience as a professional non-profit fundraiser to increase philanthropic support for our organization.

When Jen is not performing or working as the Director of Institutional Advancement at the Winston School, she enjoys reading a captivating Jane Austin novel, traveling with her husband, Joe, and crafting candles out of re-purposed, vintage containers with her Mom. (You may even see them with their candles at local craft shows!).

We are so happy to welcome Jen to our resident company at the theatre once again, and you just might see her on stage later this season during our annual Holiday Concert!
